Philadelphia Beats Boston, 11-2 | Philadelphia starter Jorge Arellano kept the Boston hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 11-2. The Minutemen, now 5-10, continue their inauspicious start.
Al Coulter had a big 3-run home run for the Keystones in the top of the first inning. With Philadelphia leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Ray Gonyea, who finished 4th in the FA in strikeouts with 153 in 1961, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Keystones on top, 6-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Arellano said after the game. | |
