Keystones Rally Late to Nip Eagles | In a low-scoring clash between Philadelphia and Washington, pitcher Jim Elliott was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 2-1 Keystones win. The win went to Charlie Rushing in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Dick Adams Jr. took the loss. Philadelphia has run its win streak to 8 straight.
Harry Dellinger was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Keystones center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Jim just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Philadelphia manager Don Fox. | |
