Blake Lifts Pioneers to Win | Charlie Blake, who is a two-time All-Star, was terrific for the St. Louis Pioneers in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Washington Eagles. Blake picked up the win, and it was well-deserved. The first-place Pioneers, at 88-50, now lead their division by 3 games.
Blake pitched well for St. Louis. The hard-throwing right-hander went the distance, allowing 1 run on 2 hits.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Blake. | |
