| Eagles Sunk by Pioneers | St. Louis starter Billy Hasson pitched well against the Washington Eagles at Pioneer Field III. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. John Gibson recorded the save, making him 21 for 29. With the win, the Pioneers hiked their record to 87-50.
The Pioneers benefited from an error in the bottom of the fifth inning. St. Louis was leading 2-0 when Charlie Cooper hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put St. Louis in front, 3-0.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Washington manager Roger Cleaves, "let me know."
