| Foresters Upend Cougars, 3-2 | The Cleveland Foresters took Chicago pitcher Dick Champ's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Cougars Park. The final score had Cleveland getting past the Cougars, 3-2. Champ went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 3. Sibby Smith, the winning pitcher, is now 7-3. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 3. Johnny Ogden earned his 10th save, after closing out the game.
John Low, who is tied for 10th in the CA in bases on balls with 36, had a direct impact on the outcome. Low contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Cleveland up, 2-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Cleveland manager Jim Whitehead.
The Foresters raised their record to 36-35.
