Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Eagles
The home team gave the crowd some walk-off drama.

The Washington Eagles took Ted Coffin's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Columbia Stadium. The final score had Washington getting past the Miners, 5-4, in 10 innings. Coffin over 8 innings allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 0. Dick Greenhalgh was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-7. The losing pitcher was Jim Baker.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Washington third baseman Tom Miller, facing Jim Baker, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Eagles the 5-4 win.

"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Miller.

With the win over Pittsburgh, the Eagles improved to 44-37.
