The Kansas City Kings defeated the New York Imperials, 9-8, in part because of third baseman Ken Newman. Newman was 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Kings. The victory gives the Kings a record of 45-22.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Newman hit a sinker from Eddie Webb for a solo home run. The Kings, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
