The Cleveland Foresters defeated the Toronto Wolves, 5-4, at Dominion Stadium. Cleveland was led by fan favorite Lorenzo Samuels, who was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The last-place Wolves dropped to 33-53.

Cleveland used the clutch hitting of Sherry Doyal to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Foresters ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Doyal told the Cleveland News.
