Dynamos Deal Keystones 9-7 Setback
Detroit shortstop Stan Kleminski played a vital role in his team's 9-7 conquest of Philadelphia. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Detroit. The winner was Jack Halbur in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tony Dixon took the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Detroit was Rusty Petrick.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Del Johnson to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dynamos on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Johnson said afterward that "winning, obviously, is the main objective."

The second-place Dynamos sport a record of 47-35.
