Bloom Excels in 10-3 Chicago Win
With second baseman Ed Bloom leading the charge, the Chicago Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Miners, 10-3, at Fitzpatrick Park. Bloom, who is tied for 4th in the FA with a .413 on-base percentage, went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The Chiefs saw their win-loss record go to 45-35. At the same time, the Miners fell to 49-35.

Chicago center fielder John Moss contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 75th hit of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 3-1.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Moss.
