| Saints Handed 7-4 Loss by Kansas City | The Kansas City Kings beat the Montreal Saints, 7-4, at Prairie Park. Ben Crawford, who finished 3rd in the CA in triples with 11 in 1961, starred for Kansas City. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The Continental Association-leading Kings have a record of 43-22.
With Kansas City leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Crawford hit a sinker from Juan Quintana for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Kings ahead, 7-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Crawford told the Kansas City Observer.
