Cougars Need Extra Innings to Top Wranglers, 7-6
The Chicago Cougars defeated the Dallas Wranglers, 7-6, at Norris Stadium. Leading the charge for Chicago was first baseman Pete Meany. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Arch Wilson, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. The third-place Cougars have won 4 consecutive games.

Chicago used the timely hitting of George McKee to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Cougars on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Dallas manager Tom Aiello.
