| Minutemen Stay Hot, Beat Gothams, 6-2 | The Boston Minutemen topped the New York Gothams, 6-2, in Federal Association action at Minuteman Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston pitcher Don Griffin. Griffin, now 11-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Boston has run its win streak to 6 straight.
In the bottom of the sixth, Boston left fielder Bill Newhall gave his team the lead. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, The Hollis Hotshot hit his 23rd double of the year. New York pitcher Les Freedman surrendered it. With that, the Minutemen jumped in front, 3-2.
"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Newhall.
