| Suns Earn 6-2 Win Versus Washington | The Suns grabbed a win, 6-2, at Wilshire Park, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Walter Paxson. Paxson went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Los Angeles pitcher Frank Carey earned the win, hiking his record to 4-5. Walter Paxson suffered the loss. Los Angeles, at 26-32, holds down 7th place in the Federal Association.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Frank Carey didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Washington trailing 1-0, Carey retired Jack Thompson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Carey, with a wink.
