Eagles Down Suns, 7-4
The Washington Eagles picked up a win at Wilshire Park, dropping the Los Angeles Suns, 7-4, in 10 innings. Walt Staton, who finished 3rd in the CA in wins with 19 in 1952, was the difference-maker. The winner was Washington reliever Otto Caudill, now 4-2. The loser was Jerry Patton. The Suns fall to 7-18 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1962 season.

Washington used a timely hit from Enos Bailey to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 6-4. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.

"No one wins," Bailey said, "without the will to win."
