Eagles Collect 8-6 Win Over Minutemen | It took 10 innings, but the Washington Eagles were able to beat the Boston Minutemen, 8-6, at Minuteman Stadium. Jimmy Brown provided some offensive muscle for Washington. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Dick Adams Jr. snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Eddie Fox suffered the loss. The Eagles, now 2-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Had Brown not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Brown hit a 2-run double. The Eagles took the lead, 8-6, and never looked back.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Brown. "But we got it done." | |
