Leckie goes 3-for-3 to Power Chiefs Offense
The Chicago Chiefs defeated the St. Louis Pioneers, 5-1, at Whitney Park. Chicago was led by 1952 Kellogg Award winner Earl Leckie, who went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chicago pitcher Al Miller got the win, upping his record to 9-3. Hiram Steinberg got the loss. The third-place Chiefs now have a win-loss record of 44-32.

With Chicago leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Leckie batted against St. Louis pitcher Hiram Steinberg. Leckie hit a forkball to left for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Chiefs on top, 5-0.

"I was able to square up some pitches," said Leckie.
