The St. Louis Pioneers got a superb performance from pitcher Frenchy Mack, but the New York Gothams still won the game, 4-3. Mack threw 9.0 innings allowing 4 runs. Picking up the win was Red Blanchard. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits. The left--hander struck out 3 and walked 1. The win makes New York 58-66.

Ed Holmes, who finished 5th in the FA in triples with 12 in 1959, aided the New York cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4 with a walk.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said St. Louis skipper Lou Ormsby.
