San Francisco Sunk by Chicago, 4-1 | Chicago Cougars starter Hank Walker turned in a top-notch performance against the San Francisco Sailors at Golden Gate Stadium. The result was a win for the Cougars, 4-1. Pug White finished to wrap up his 9th save. With the win, the Cougars sit at 34-29.
Pug White dealt the Sailors a blow in the top of the ninth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Chicago leading 2-1, White, who finished 4th in the CA in saves with 18 last year, hit a 1-0 sinker for a 2-run single.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Walker. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win." | |
