Chapin Excels in 8-1 Cincinnati Win
Cincinnati left fielder Bonnie Chapin was instrumental in helping the Cannons triumph, 8-1, over the New York Imperials. Chapin was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The win was credited to Hal Miller in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Charlie Christianson took the loss. The win for the Cannons lifted their record to 33-29.

With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Chapin hit a curveball from Charlie Christianson for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Cannons ahead, 3-0.

"That was not our best effort," said New York skipper Bud Jameson.
