Montreal Saints starter Jim Montgomery pitched a strong game against the Kansas City Kings at Stade Montreal, leading the Saints to victory, 7-4. Montgomery, now 4-6, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Montreal is now 26-34, Kansas City 38-21.

Andy Gilman had a big 2-run double for the Saints in the bottom of the third inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Elmer Sullivan, the 10th overall pick in the 1950 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 3-0.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Montreal manager Johnny Gilbert.
