Thomas Twirls 4-0 Shutout | John Thomas of the Chicago Chiefs was masterful, pitching a 3-hit shutout, 4-0, against the Pittsburgh Miners.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Chicago manager Dutch Becker.
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
Thomas had 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the outing.
To date this season, Thomas has compiled a 5-0 record with a 1.09 ERA in 5 starts. | |
