San Francisco Gets 6-0 Win | The San Francisco Sailors beat the Cleveland Foresters, 6-0. San Francisco pitcher and Washington, District of Columbia, native Eddie Whitney led the way. At 32-26, the Sailors find themselves in third place in the Continental Association.
San Francisco third baseman Ernie Carter contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 60th hit of the season and put the Sailors ahead, 2-0.
Whitney attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone." | |
