Sailors Stun Foresters, 5-3 | The San Francisco Sailors cut down the Cleveland Foresters by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder John Kingsbury. Kingsbury went 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Sailors. San Francisco reliever Eddie Chapman got the win, raising his record to 3-5. Frank Young was tagged with the loss. The win hiked the San Francisco record to 31-25.
Kingsbury had a game-changing triple in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 sinker from Frank Young, he banged a 2-run triple to right-center, giving the Sailors a 4-3 lead. It was the 5th triple of the year for Kingsbury.
