The Washington Eagles picked up a win at Columbia Stadium, downing the Los Angeles Suns, 6-5. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Bob Ball, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, the Eagles have a record of 37-21.

Fremont, Nebraska native Bob Ball had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Eagles. With Washington trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.

"Bob was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Washington manager Roger Cleaves.
