| Gaines Sparkles in 5-0 Shutout | It was a dismal game for the Cincinnati Cannons with Dixie Gaines on the hill. The Chicago Cougars starter was in top form, shutting out Cincinnati, 5-0. He surrendered a total of 4 hits and piled up 4 strikeouts to pick up the win in a rout.
"No offense to the Cannons but that was a cakewalk today," Gaines said to BNN reporters following the win.
