| Eagles Use Late Rally to Win | Washington registered a win at Minuteman Stadium by beating the Boston Minutemen, 4-1. Pitcher John Herron was one reason why the Eagles triumphed. Jose Waggoner earned the save, his 15th, for the Eagles. The win makes Washington 34-31.
Had Pete Sipe not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Sipe hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Eagles.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Herron said. "That's why you play the game."
