Cougars Suffer One-Run Loss at Montreal
In a low-scoring tilt between the Montreal Saints and the Chicago Cougars, Juan Quintana, who leads the CA with a 1.08 WHIP, was the difference-maker. The Montreal left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Montreal pitcher Cliff Dinger earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Pug White suffered the loss. Hank Myer earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.

Ham Flanders went 2 for 3 with a double for Montreal. The 1962 Kellogg Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pug White. It was his 24th RBI of the season.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Chicago manager Buck Cuppett.

The Saints improved their record to 23-28 with the win over Chicago.
